| Scope: Series consists of reports and tabulating cards. The General Assembly, by No. R-37 of the Acts of 1966, directed the Legislative Council to make an independent, in-depth study of offenders, correctional personnel, programs, and facilities at the municipal, county, and state levels, and the laws governing crime and Correction in Vermont. Upon completion of its 1967 report, Report on County Jails and Town Lockups, the 5-person Committee was continued and directed to conduct a study of corrections in the state. Both reports were adopted by the Legislative Council. The tabulating cards were used to record data for the studies. | |
