A large collection (33 cubic ft.) covering c. 1930 to 1993. The photos were created primarily to promote Vermont tourism, but document other government activities as well. There is such a wide range of subjects that only a glimpse of the collection can be given in this summary. Subjects include: Ski shots, 1930's skiing (including x-country) to 1993, ski lodges, ski lifts, and mountain views. Outdoor activities are widely represented including camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, hunting, golf, and horseback riding. There are photos of fairs, celebrations, parades, and the Eastern States Exposition. Scenic landscapes abound. Governors and other state officials are shown participating in various activities: signing bills, tasting maple syrup, skiing, Green-Up day. There are photos of government buildings and government employees at work. There are farm scenes, scenes of movies made in Vermont, historic sites, town activities and covered bridges. There are also a number of photos of Vermont industries and businesses.
