SERIES DATABASE SEARCH
The Series Database is an index to records in the Vermont State Archives. Series are comprised of file units or documents that are kept together because they relate to a particular subject or function, result from the same activity, document a specific type of transaction, take a particular physical form, or have some other relationship arising out of their creation, receipt, maintenance, or use. They are created during the normal course of business and reflect the filing system used by an agency, department or court.

NOTE: Series are identified in the database by their creator, such as Agency of Transportation or Dept. of Education and series title, such as meeting minutes or hearings. Series descriptions, also known as scope statements, may also be searched. Creating agency names are standardized in the database using the Library of Congress Authorities File (LCAF) format. All fields use pattern searching, meaning that partial names or words may be used. To expand results, limit search terms to one field. To limit results, enter search terms in two or more fields using the advanced search form.
