This page currently provides information about storing security copies of records at the State Records Center. In the future, information will be added regarding reformatting and vault storage.
STORING SECURITY RECORDS AT THE STATE RECORDS CENTER
VSARA stores security copies of land records on behalf of municipalities and counties, pursuant to 3 V.S.A. § 117(g)(10). A security copy is a reproduction of a record created and managed to preserve the information in case the original is damaged. This service is available to municipal clerks that record land records, including city, town, village and county clerks, as well as supervisors of unorganized towns and gores.

This form must be received by the Local Records Program Coordinator ( or see contact information below) prior to each transfer of records.
This form may be completed electronically and e-mailed or printed and mailed.
This form alerts the Local Records Program Coordinator that a shipment is expected and what records will be transferred. |
