Non-Resident Notaries Public
If you are a non-resident, you may be appointed as a Vermont notary if you reside in New Hampshire, Massachusetts or New York and maintain or are regularly employed in a place of business in Vermont. You should apply (http://www.vermontjudiciary.org/eforms) to the county clerk of the county in which the business is located (a list of county clerks is available on the Vermont Judiciary website; county clerks are also Superior Court clerks). As a non-resident notary, you are required to inform the superior court judges of any change of residence or place of employment. 24 V.S.A. §441a.
