PROPOSED STATE RULES


By law, public notice of proposed rules must be given by publication in newspapers of record. The purpose of these notices is to give the public a chance to respond to the proposals. The public notices for administrative rules are now also available online at http://vermont-archives.org/aparules/ovnotices.htm The law requires an agency to hold a public hearing on a proposed rule, if requested to do so in writing by 25 persons or an association having at least 25 members.

Pole Attachments - Rule 3.700

Vermont Proposed Rule: 07P051

AGENCY: Public Service Board

CONCISE SUMMARY: The amendment to the rule will allow attachment to electric and telephone poles by broadband service providers, either wired or wireless.

TYPE OF PERSONS AFFECTED: Electric and telephone utilities, and broadband providers and their potential customers.

COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS: There is little effect upon the pole owners; it is hoped that there will be a large benefit to the public of easing the deployment of broadband and wireless communication facilities.

SCHEDULED HEARINGS: Tuesday, November 20, 2007 - 10:00 AM, Public Service Board, Hearing Room, 3rd Floor, Chittenden Bank Building, 112 State Street, Montpelier, Vermont.
