PROPOSED STATE RULES
By law, public notice of proposed rules must be given by publication in newspapers of record. The purpose of these notices is to give the public a chance to respond to the proposals. Regulation for Family Foster Care; prohibits exposure of foster children to second hand smoke in foster homes.
Vermont Proposed Rule: 05P013
AGENCY: Dept. of Children and Families (DCF)
CONCISE SUMMARY: A new regulation will be added to the Licensing Regulations for Family Foster Care that would ensure that foster homes and the vehicles used to transport foster children shall be smoke-free environments. The regulation will apply for the duration of the child's placement in the foster home.
TYPE OF PERSONS AFFECTED: Current and prospective foster parents, children served by the Department, the residential licensing unit of the Department, licensed child placing agencies, shelter homes in designated shelter program, the Human Services Board if appealed, and the Attorney General if appealed.
COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS: This rule is not expected to have any appreciable economic impact. See attached Economic Impact Statement for a summary of the intangible costs and benefits of the rule.
