Child Support Guidelines
Vermont Proposed Rule: 04P010
AGENCY: Human Services
CONCISE SUMMARY: This rule revises a technical error that exists in rule 03P-029. Effective January 5, 2004, rule 03P-029 updated three tables used to calculate child support. Following the adoption of 03P-029, the Office of Child Support detected a technical error. The error exists within the Adjusted Gross to After Tax Income Conversion Table for sole or split custody cases and affects ONLY cases where custodial parents earn $158,100.00 or more per year. This technical amendment will conform the previously adopted rule with published guidelines which contain the correct values for cases in this income range.
TYPE OF PERSONS AFFECTED: Children of separated parents; custodial parents; non-custodial parent; Family Court Magistrates, Case Managers and Judges; Office of Child Support staff; and attorneys involved in child support cases.
COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS: The economic impact of this revision is not significant. This amendment simply corrects a technical error that exists in the Adjusted Gross to After Tax Conversion Table for sole or split custody cases in rule 03P-029 adopted January 5, 2004.
SCHEDULED HEARINGS: None scheduled.
